I found a Model 54(30-06) coming up for sale at an estate auction. It is in rough shape, the notable problem is that the bolt is missing! I understand the supply of bolts has been exhausted? Can Winchester or competent gunsmith fit a Pre-64 model 70 bolt to this action??
I really doubt that's possible. In theory, it may be possible for a gunsmith to make a different used bolt fit with a new barrel, but you're looking at thousands of dollars of work for a nearly 100 year old rifle, to make it worth maybe $500 in the end.
